Scanner Software Downloads
Notes: Some software packages require a discriminator output
(also known as detector output and wideband audio). Some new scanners such as
the AOR 8200, ALINCO, YUPITERU have this feature. Most scanners can be modified
for it, as there are so many models, you’ll have to look up yours but click
here for further information on Discriminator Output. For explanations on
what each decoding mode is go to the Decoding

Decodes Marine RTTY, NAVTEX and HF FAX (WEFAX). This program seems
to be a fake (I think it’s an aut number generator) as with no scanner
plugged in att al it said is was, and looked like it was decoding NAVTEX-when
I checked the character sets, they didn’t match rea NAVTEX ones. Try it for
yourself and tell me your opinion. |

The best control software I’ve seen for the AOR8200 and the only
one that displays all the contents of the actual handheld’s screen, plus it’s
does way more, has many more features and is a much better program over all,
and outstanding for capturing with Windows® Media Encoder for broadcasting
your AOR live via web. |

YOUR SOFTWARE HERE |
Design your own pc scanner software and I’ll advertise it for you
here* |
*Must be a
resident or o/s citizen of Australia or New Zealand
Any
software not here you’d like to see, let me know where to find it or send it to me and I’ll add it to the
list. If you’ve got PC control software you recommend for your brand of scanner,
again please email a .zip copy (or web link etc)
Some of
these programs are freeware, some shareware and some are demos or “half”
versions of commercial software. Some are trial versions and some are
commercial software, some of which require you to licence the software for it
to function fully (they all work to some extent). All software is ©ALL
RIGHTS RESERVED of the original owner/authors, it is provided here as most is
overseas based, these are Australian server downloads.
Where
Copyright restrictions don’t allow me to offer downloads, you will be taken to
the software manufacturers web site.
Many of these programs only need a pc soundcard (or build
your own stand alone hardware config) to work that has a line or microphone
input. You will also need a cable with a 3.5mm mono plug at scanner end plus a
stereo 3.5mm headphone plug at the pc end (or RCA in some cases) that carries
the audio from your scanner (either from headphone jack or scanner line/speaker
out) to the soundcard’s line in (preferred option) or mic input, then tune your
scanner to the correct frequency and mode etc for that type of decoding and
away you go.
The idea is to show you all what can be decoded with a scanner, using software or hardware and not just Trunk Tracking, the simplest and most boring of them all IMHO. Using either the discrimantor output or the scanner’s audio out the possibilities are almost endless. The software for ‘scanner control’ has not been included, as control software for almost all scanners is available and © the manufacturers.
Depending on future disk space and negotiations with scanner manufacturers I may add more than a few scanner control software packages in the future
