Notes:
The operator
of V/Line (National Express) has quit its V/Line, M Train and M Tram contracts
with the State Government. However, V/Line will continue to operate, and I can
confirm that all of V/Line’s frequencies will be remaining the same, after many
phone calls, and some field research since they pulled out on Tuesday
17/12/2002
These
frequencies are used by train drivers across Victoria to communicate with the V/Line Control Centre (heard on air as
“Centrol,” which is located at Spencer St Railway Station, and at every country
Victorian station (look for the huge antenna’s)
Many
frequencies are low-powered and will only be heard if you are near enough to
the transmitter/repeater site.
Any
frequencies not listed here, is because they belong to other Rail Services,
however, the next page contains all the frequencies for Puffing Billy, Steam Rail
Victoria, West Coast Rail and any other rail service in Victoria that is not
owned by the State, like Freight Australia (Federal Allocation)
Many of the
V/Line frequencies will match those of interstate rail authorities. (I heard a
Centrol operator tell a Train driver to contact Adelaide Control on Ch 12
(V/Line) and was able to listen and confirm this).
