Stations which are "non-24" may still have a night-shift
working, just because they are not 24-hour does not mean they may not be open
a/h. (Watch Blue Heelers for an example of this)
Ø
Stations which are "1 up or 1 man" have a member on-call after
hours. These are the old-fashioned 24 hour live-in police stations where an
officer lives at and/or near the local Police Station is available on-call
24/7, even though the actual Police Station Public Entrance may be closed.
Ø
Police Station codes have been listed for completeness -these are used
internally by Vic Police and Intergraph, and may be heard on-air occasionally.
Ø
Victoria Police use VHF for officer control throughout Regions 1,
2, 3, 4 and 5, which contain Operational Districts L, M, N, O, P
and Q.
Ø The 3
letter (District& Station) code in column two appears on all Charge Sheets
(The blue forms you get if charged with a criminal offence) and Traffic and
Other Fine Notices (Infringement notices, where an officer either charges or
fines you for an criminal, traffic or other minor offence (littering, drinking
in non-alcohol zone etc). It appears near or next to the fining/charging
officer’s name.
