ANZAC AOCS HF

The RAAF and RNZAF Air Operations Communications System (AOCS) is a HF radio network providing communications services for the operational control of RAAF/RNZAF aircraft and HF equipped marine craft. Visiting military aircraft may use the AOCS during contact with Australia and/or New Zealand based military authorities. AOCS is not part of and does not provide air traffic control services, military or civil.  AOCS consists of 6 Air Operations Communications Centres (AOCC's), located at Sydney, Perth, Darwin, Townsville and Auckland, New Zealand

AOCS provides the following:

• A General Purpose Net (GPN) on which all AOCC's guard the same three frequencies. All AOCC's can transmit and receive on these frequencies simultaneously;

• Discrete frequencies, (if required) at each AOCC, allocated after initial contact on the GPN;

• Telephone patch facilities between aircraft and ground;

• Monitoring the military distress frequency 5.6960 MHz USB; and

• SELCAL is also available to suitably equipped aircraft.

These frequencies are also the Australia/New Zealand ANZAC HF Network. RAAF Also use the Global USA GHFS Network
