1.
Some, not
all, country CFA appliances and all CFA Fire Stations are fitted with HF
transceivers on the above mentioned frequencies.
2.
You will
need a lo-band HF comms receiver or a scanner with a BFO or USB/LSB selectable,
and small steps to hear these transmissions
3.
The best
reception, I find, is obtained via the DSE short wave antenna with the outer
part of the bnc plug attached to the copper water pipe.
4.
On very
good “skip” days it can be heard through my antenna system, pictured and
described elsewhere on this site

CFA
volunteers in country areas also make use of UHF CB. (So respect their usage of
UHF CB Ch 5/35-or any other channel)
