CALLSIGNS.
[VL7UFB:
Official Urban Brigades callsign]; [VL7CFB:
Official Country Brigades Callsign]
FireComm:
Actual Callsign used by TFS Base.
Callsigns start with Station name (eg Hobart) and the two-digit number
that follows indicates vehicle type, so Hobart 12 on-air would be a Heavy Pumper from Hobart Fire Station.

2.
As with the Victorian CFA, TFS
arrive at a fire scene and assume the callsign of the street or landmark, so
when the Hobart 12 arrives ‘on
scene’ he will change the callsign to
say “Blackstone Heights Control”
3.
The rest of TFS radio talk is easy
to understand, they’ll turn-out, arrive on scene, get fire under control
, make up & return, and then be back in station.
