Appliances
Callsign: <Brigade> <water
capacity> and <2> or <4> wheel drive
capability.
Brigade name is simply the name of
the brigade, e.g.Woodside.
Water capacity is a single digit
code identifying the approximate maximum water carrying capacity of the
appliance. This code is defined as follows:
1 = 0 -
1000 Litres
2 = 1001 - 2000 Litres
3 = 2001 - 3000 Litres
4 = 3001 - 4000 Litres
Appliances over 4000 litres are regarded as tankers with a call sign of brigade
name followed by "Tanker". E.g. "Samsonvale Tanker"
A single digit (2 or 4) is used to
identify whether the appliance is 2 or 4 wheel drive.If there are two
appliances of the same specification-as far as call signs are concerned- the
second and subsequent appliances have a phonetic letter added at the end
