Appliances
Callsign: <Brigade>
  <water capacity> and <2> or <4> wheel drive capability.

Brigade name is simply the name of the brigade, e.g.Woodside.

Water capacity is a single digit code identifying the approximate maximum water carrying capacity of the appliance. This code is defined as follows:

1 = 0 - 1000 Litres
2 = 1001 - 2000 Litres
3 = 2001 - 3000 Litres
4 = 3001 - 4000 Litres
Appliances over 4000 litres are regarded as tankers with a call sign of brigade name followed by "Tanker". E.g. "Samsonvale Tanker"

A single digit (2 or 4) is used to identify whether the appliance is 2 or 4 wheel drive.If there are two appliances of the same specification-as far as call signs are concerned- the second and subsequent appliances have a phonetic letter added at the end
For Woodside, the appliances would be allocated the following call signs:

Woodside 14
